wow, I never really thought nutrition was really this big of a factor in fitness... when I got tore that muscle in my hip a while back i just sat around for ages doing shit all and then after that length of time I tried to play ball for the first time and was tired as hell after 5-10 minutes, I had no hops, no arm strength and limited quickness. My mum got a huge power bill a few weeks back and she said that she cant go shopping this month (only getting milk and bread when needed) coz there isnt enough money, so ive basically been living on vegetables, eggs and salads - lots of salads. I went out today and felt great, on top of that I have been taking magnesium pills because I was very low on it during my injury. I havnt done anything different in terms of exercise and my hip healed a while back so its gotta be the food... (Y) (Y) Im gonna continue to eat like this, I feel great now

The ones I ate are basically the same as what you and cyanide posted:

fruits (apple, mangoes)
veggies (mostly leftovers in the house)
salads
skinless chicken breast
eggs (I only eat a maximum of 2 a day)
wheat bread (w/tuna in it)
tuna
red potatoes (anything taters!)

I only ate the chocolate back then for variety (I get tired easily of eating the same stuff in a day) and when I run out of available meals, as posted above. I wouldn't recommend it though, try to find other alternatives when you run out of your usual meals. A friend recommended me to have powerbars but I haven't tried it, ever. What can you say about powerbars, cyanide, air gordon? Would you recommend it?

As for the cardio, try to google it for more specific examples, fatso. :P

Try finding a cardio workout that suits you. I found that jogging isn't for me because of my bum knees so I settled on cycling/biking instead. A very vigorous walk will also do.
By far, the best cardio I currently know of is shadow boxing, just 3 mins. of it straight will have you bathing in you own sweat and raising your heartrate. It will also improve a bit of your muscle memory incase you get in a fight.

Muscle memory?

Muscle memory is awesome. Say you used to be 200 pounds of pure muscle, then you fell ill and lost 20 pounds in a month. You regain your health, but you're only 180 pounds. That's ok, with muscle memory, you can gain it all back faster than you thought! Your body remembers your peak weight.

I don't recommend it. It's a waste of money, and I think the best "powerbar" I've ever tasted is a homemade one where it's basically a recipe of oatmeal, protien powder, honey, and peanut butter. My god, it's so addicting.

What cyanide said.
It also applies to your body remembering certain movements. Like what those martial artists do in training, repeatedly punching, kicking, etc. When they get in a fight, they don't pause for a second and think "I'm going to dodge then kick his brains out", they just do it without actively thinking about their movement. It speeds up your reaction time because your body is used to that situation and "remembers" it.
It also applies to training in certain sports like shooting a basketball or whenever an automatic response/action is needed.

Training idea:
Get one of those ankle weights. Wrap it in a beer bottle. Start drinking.
Maybe you'll get a nice workout on the arms.

Wouldn't want my muscles to "remember" that. The next time i go for a beer i'd end up with a face full of it due to the beer being a lot lighter than expected.

Lose any weight yet you fat bastard?

Ok, here's my second problem that i need to solve. It's computer related.

I may need to just go to a computer forum, but i'll give my trustworthy NLSCians the question first.

It started out as a hardware problem, where my screen was completely fucked. By that i mean the screen was a bit warped, and the colours were inverted in certain blotches of the screen (i.e. blue was green, green was red (something like that. it's fucked). It's due to magnetic or something. Perhaps a powersurge in the powerpoint or something like that. Whatever, it's still under warranty, i'll take it back or something.

The real problem started when i plugged my older, smaller yet working monitor into my computer and turned it on. It didn't work. The screen turned itself off when it loaded windows (yet the computer was still running).

So i thought, "oh yeah. no worries, i'll attach my other monitor again to change the resolution to 600x800, then i'll be able to use my new screen (that in fact worked, i'm using my older monitor right now). Only, a new problem arised. This time windows related.

When i loaded my user profile (Nick), it took much longer than usual. (you know how when you turn the comp on, you get a welcome screen and you click on a name?) when i clicked it it said "loading settings" or whatever it says, and it took like 60 or so seconds until a thing popped up (now, i didnt really read it properly because i was in a rush. all i wanted to do was change the resolution and get the new old monitor running) but it basically told me it couldn't load my profile and it will create a temporary profile instead. and that any settings i change wont be saved when i log off. So i thought, "no big deal. whatever."

But it happens every time now. Every time i click on my name it goes for the temporary profile instead. which is really, really annoying. because it thinks ive loaded up the computer for the first time every time.

this means: my prefered desktop icons are gone. my quick launch menu is gone (which had things i use every day like msn, icq firefox, show desktop, blah blah. now i have to go to my computer etc.). i get the 'take the windows xp tour box every time. to get to my documents i have to go through the my computer way. all my bookmarked websites are gone. i have to google the site because i can't remember the urls. my user name and passwords are not saved. i have to type in my email to msn and myspace again every time i want to use it. etc. and much more other settings that i got used to that are gone. i mean these sound like little deals, but when you have to do it EVERY TIME you load the computer, it's fucking annoying, and i can't keep doing it.

So, any ideas how to get my corrupted user profile back on its feet?

I don't know why but that made me laugh really hard.

Well you can search google for "corrupted user profile windows xp" without the quotes. I think you have to create a new profile and copy some settings over.

I have the same problem Nick. I never turn or log off my computer now.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 9:37 pm

Really? Do you have any idea what caused it?

Thu Oct 05, 2006 9:43 pm

I always assumed mine was because of porn.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 10:43 pm

Lol gotta love the blunt honesty. I dunno, my porn has always been pretty safe. It's probably today's society's fault.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? You don't have to pay bills to keep your computer on. I haven't turned off my computer in years.

electricity, perhaps?

Fri Oct 06, 2006 9:42 pm

It doesn't make that big of a difference at all.

Fri Oct 06, 2006 9:48 pm

Will all of you shutup already? Stop lying to him.

Koberulz, you're right, the computer just sucks a shitload of electricity, given most of the people out here aren't concerned about conserving, I urge you to turn off your PC and save us from your moronic posts...I mean saving energy. Yeah, that's it.

Damn it Nick. Don't don't transform into a pavel clone.
Nick wrote:powersurge in the powerpoint

You dolt.

Why don't you just make a new profile. As far as I know, corrupted user profiles can't even be deleted (if it's an administrator).

Sat Dec 09, 2006 1:57 pm

Well, i figured this was probably the best place to post this.

Um, yeah. I'm not exactly sure what to say, but some of you might've noticed a strange "tirade" of posts by me about 10,11 hours ago. Yeah, i was in a wierd state of mind (yes, drunk) and thought it would be hilarious to post some random posts. But i now realise it's not. I saw some people post about the annoyance and suspensions. And while the ban talk is hilarious, i'd think it's annoying too. For whatever reason, i thought it was funny at the time. But it's attention-seeking-esque and just plain lame.

Anyway for that i wanted to apoligise. Again. No big deal.

BTW, i fixed both the problems i talked of in this thread. (Y) Good times.
