Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I don't, but it's an open suggestion.

I have to cheat on it on the first try.

Modifly wrote:I haven't had time to read it yet, but I'm sure that it's great as always Lean.

I will check it out later, and of course, try it out too.

Will wait for your work Jom.

You watch that shite? I hope you die a horrible death.
i don't. i just recalled that i saw it in a cracked article recently. one titled "most bizzare superheroes" or something like that.

who would want hyper-inflated fists as superpowers?

I had time this morning so I finally checked out your latest tutorial, S.H.I.T #2.

Normally I would read it with enthusiasm right after you release it but this time I was away at my friend's place until today. After I finished reading it, I have to say Lean, it's practically top quality. You explained everything very well and it is very clear/easy to understand. I really like how you included a lot of screenshots to illustrate what you are talking about too. It made things a lot easier for us. The yellow box at the bottom that recap things as you go along is really thoughtful as well. It really kept us on track and made sure we're doing the right thing.

I'd like to thank you on behalf of everyone for the effort you put in to create this amazing piece of work Lean, and I look forward to the next shit from you.

...thanks Jom. Actually this tutorial was Narcius' request as well.
Meanwhile, it's that time of the year again:

Your so great Sir Lean...

Revisions added. Hopefully the folks accept this, then I'll file this as work overtime:

Awesome.

Personally I hate the colour scheme, but maybe that's how them folks wants it.
Tue Jul 28, 2009 9:36 pm
Same here, thing is I can't change the color scheme because of that's the school colors.

Recent works:
The poster for the recent school event posted above:

Original poster size is at 9' X 10'.
...and here's my first try on motion graphics. Using After Effects, a "post-introduction" video of the same event, more like a WWE PPVs-inspired style in video introduction, camera panning and high-resolution PNGs FTW (video FLV'ed, actual resolution is at 720x480)
Made in a quad-core PC that still struggles in the pre-rendering phase.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:51 am
damn. i wish i could also do something like that with after effects. anyway, now i know why my laptop chokes when i use that program.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 12:38 pm
I really like the final outcome of that logo Lean, looks really shiny and posh.

The video is very good too, I really like how you arranged the transitions and such. What surprises me is that you still struggled in pre-rendering phase despite using a quad-core PC. Maybe you need an eight core PC.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 12:40 pm
Well the unit wasn't mine anyways so it's fine with me.

EDIT: My original plan was to put a narration on the video (really WWE-ish

) saying a spiel that I wrote up but didn't really happen because of our lack of sleep. The video was cut without my consent and a few portions of it were shown in the program.

Bump:
Proof that the poster was used in the event. Feast your eyes on:

errr,

Wow !
I don't know which of which is catching my eye , the Girl or your Poster ?
m'eh both of them are gorgeous
and I have a question for you Lean .
Which is more noticed in your Institute ?
You or your Gorgeous Poster ?
Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:22 pm
Actually those logos and stuff were just placed there, they weren't the stars of the show. Thing is the videos are shown in a white screen beside the stage so it wasn't really seen clearly by the audience.
Tue Aug 04, 2009 4:57 pm
So much for your hardwork .
Did it satisfy you in some sort when they used your work ?
Tue Aug 04, 2009 5:23 pm

Of course it does. There's this sense of flattery and pride everytime my work is used.

How long did you made them anyway ?

I hope you read and understood what I posted. Yes, even if some of my works weren't in the "center of attention" they were still put to use. It's better than never. The one on the stage with the girl is in the center, the videos are on the sides.
The poster was made in less than an hour. Was only delayed because of the file size of the PSD. The video intro was a "voluntary" project wherein I told the rest of the "multimedia team" that I'll be using After Effects instead of the ones their using.

Lean, it really is a great feeling when your work is put to use...

i've have designed our jerseys and logos since i was 13 and it feels great when our school or my classmates wear them... my photoshop skills back then are below average and it improves through time...

now, i don't design anymore....

and i think with my new skills in PS, my jerseys would have look better now if i'm still designing...

MikeMan™,

A little recognition would've been better like :
Announcer : Let's applaud for the man who designed the Banner and the Awesome Intro Video " Lean " !
- hearing that would've been much,much better . . .

Lean's not at that level of attention-whoring.
Wed Aug 05, 2009 12:47 am
