The only way he'll become a hero is if he would be able to stop corruption and abolish poverty in the Philippines. But i doubt that he can do that, because look around, he's surrounded by those corrupt and no-good politicians. Heck, he was even coaxed by them to run for a congressional seat, thank god that a lot of people in his province were smart enough to not vote for him.

mamanip wrote:and i also remember that you have the 3 stars and a sun title before and you said that you do not have any "3 stars and a sun (TM)" shirts yet..

poser.

That doesn't mean that I can't use the "Three Stars and a Sun" custom title just because I don't own a FrancisM shirt. Your judgment towards forum posts is not that good. And the use of the "poser" word is inappropriate. Never heard of a "Poser Pinoy" my entire life.

mamanip wrote:you're a poser..pretentious 'anti bandwagoner' which is worse than a bandwagoner..i remember him cheering for the celtics while he claims that he hates the lakers rather than really liking the c's..oh my..

I admitted even in the old nbalive.org forums that I hate the Lakers. Which automatically makes me a "fan" of all the teams they oppose in the Playoffs. Face it man, your team lost.

mamanip wrote:i will never be surprised if i found out that you love to hear emo songs..

Quit trying to be a tough guy. I don't even see the relevance of emo songs to the thread title.

Besides, if you hate what I said about Pacquiao, why don't you hate frAn as well?

*points at frAn's post*

So does that mean that Pacquiao is more of a hero than Rizal? Lookie, he's a boxer. A BOXER. JUST A BOXER who has his head bloated by the media that puts him into the pedestal and made him think that he is a hero.

Not saying that Pacquiao is a disgrace to the country, it's just that he got hallucinations that he's a hero.

Remember when Luisito Espinosa was champion, he never had this "celebrated" life. When he lost his title, he was forgotten.

"Lookie" Gayish. Pacquiao is an athlete who represents our country, our colors, our three stars and a sun. If you have that "JUST A BOXER" mentality, why do we have to put other athletes in the world stage like the olympics or the asian games? So if ever someone from our delegants would win a gold in the olympics bearing our flag, you would say he's just A (NAME ANY SPORTS) who has his head bloated by the media that puts him into the pedestal and made him think that he is a hero?. And I don't think Manny is just hyped by the media. He earned it..We all see it..a real filipino will really feel proud in what he's doing..will really think that he's a hero..posers will not..

About fran..he's from QC..no comment..

:x
that's just a lame excuse for not giving a comment on what I said.

Here's a thought, remember those Filipinos who won Gold in the SEA Games? Where are they now? The hype they had was short lived and most of them are being forgotten now. Same with those Everest Climbers, where's the hype? The media doesn't give equal attention to our athletes. It's all for Pacquiao. That's why he thinks his a god.

Thu Jul 03, 2008 6:32 pm

mamanip, come on, he's not doing this entirely just for the country.. you forgot another reason.. money.. i remember pacquiao said that he'll accept the rematch marquez wants "if the price is right".. you think if we'll cancel out the money factor, he will still be fighting?..

and another thing, did you want manny to win during the elections?.. (now, this will determine how your intellectual status is.)

Thu Jul 03, 2008 8:59 pm

of course he wanted manny to win. if he didn't want manny to win he would be a disgrace!

edited a typo. hihihi

Very well said / typed. That's exactly my point.

mamanip wrote:"Lookie" Gayish.

You're running out of brain cells and only said it to divert the topic. I mean, attack frAn too.

What's more gayish is that you're riding Manny's dick. In every fight that Manny has won, he receives 1 million pesos from the person you call president of the Philippines. Other Pinoys may have done something more "heroic," (like the soldiers getting rid of the terrorists in the South) but don't get the same recognition.

Indeed, a real Filipino would feel proud. But not so much to make Manny a god / Pagan god / hero. It's all because of the media who made him look that way. And since then, he started thinking that he is.

I've seen interviews of both fighters before their match. When asked about what they would want to say to each other: Diaz only said "We're gonna have a great time on the ring, Manny." (here, mamanip will reply that Diaz is gay), and Manny said "I cannot wait to be in the ring again and unite our country." :|

Then again, mamanip can reply that "Diaz lost the match because he does not love his country."

Exactly! Why would the president even give Manny that amount of money when we all know(yes, we do know. since it is always published in newspapers on how much he gets) that he receives a large, a very very large sum of money everytime he wins. The president could have just gave it to the poor or homeless Filipinos, for food and shelter.. but no.. look at what they're doing with those people, they would even evict them from their shelters and take away their little jobs.

frAn wrote:The president could have just gave it to the poor or homeless Filipinos, for food and shelter.. but no..

why do you complain?.. the president just wants the people who think manny is a national hero (just like mamanip) to vote for her for the next election..

Fri Jul 04, 2008 11:49 pm

The only think i love about Manny "money" Pacquiao is that he fights for our country, and even give it some pride but the thing i hate about him is that the damn media is always giving him the attention. If he lose one fight, i want him to be forgetten forever. I would pick him over James Yap to be the next filipino hero

Sat Jul 05, 2008 10:33 am

:surrender:

kids..high school students..non-patriotic homos..who's imitating Americans for using the word dick..

But Manny Pacquiao is the greatest pinoy boxer ever..

don't disagree if you don't know anything about what you're saying or if you can't ride with what i'm saying..and thinks that this is solely for money issues..don't watch any professional sporting events if you think it's only for money..PROFESSION=MONEY and the passion for what he's doing of course..

and learn on how to make equal comparisons..you don't want to believe this but Manny's level now is incomparable to any other pinoy boxer's accomplishment..this thread started right not when a pinoy ruined it and said that it's an opinion.."I just want money to lose"

at least, i'm happy that not a pinoy started this post..that's recognition..they like manny..and it's not just filipino media hype...this thread started right not when a pinoy ruined it and said that it's an opinion.."I just want money to lose"

You still don't get it. Yes he accomplished a lot but he's still a boxer. A sports figure and not a hero.

And I will still pick Elorde over Pacquiao, he held the Featherweight title longer than any Asian boxer did.

I don't want Manny to win yes, but, that doesn't mean that I am not pro-Pinoy. That's a dumb mentality if you think that the Philippines = Pacquiao.

Anyway, you're still lucky to be around.

None of us that you attacked are kids. I am a college professor, frAn is nearing college graduation. So if you're that blind then you still won't get it.

well, i think you just can't answer the "disagreements"..

when you called Lean a poser.. did you even know the meaning of the word "poser"?.. well.. so much for "knowing anything about what you're saying".

i just have to ask you again..

Silly frAn. All Manny needs to be a hero is a cape. Yeah (Y)
Lean wrote:I will still pick Elorde over Pacquiao, he held the Featherweight title longer than any Asian boxer did.

Not just Asian. Longer than anyone:
Wiki wrote:Elorde was the WBC Junior lightweight (Super Featherweight) champion from March 20, 1960 until June 15, 1967 and WBA Super featherweight champion from February 16, 1963 to June 15, 1967 making him the longest reigning world junior lightweight champion ever (seven years and three months).

Nobody knows. He got banned twice, and sure is lurking around as an active poster.

Mon Aug 18, 2008 8:19 am

since you two just bumped his thread, i'll just say.. manny declined dela hoya's offer for a 70(golden boy promotions)-30(manny) share on revenue of the (suppose to be) match.. therefore also cancelling their brawl.. :?

Mon Aug 18, 2008 10:41 am

Seemed like a dumbass anyway with all the "Your Nationality = hardon for a boxer" mentality and all that.

Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:15 am

When it's clearly better to have a "Null17 = hardon" mentality. :cheeky:
