They're treatable, you can live quite a long life with a petuitary tumor these days.

Wouldn't he have the disease where there is something wrong in your brain telling your body to grow therefore causing giantism? Would anyone know if he's still growing?

That's what a Petuitary tumor is. A tumor in the Petuitary gland that causes you to continue growth.

Bao Xishun, the world's tallest living person at 2.36 meters met He Pingping, who at 73 cm is probably the shortest person in the world. They met on July 13 in Inner Mongolia at celebrations for Bao's successful wedding.

...He Pingping, 20, is just 73 cm, or about 2.4 feet tall and has applied to Guinness World Records to be recognized as the planet's shortest person.
