The World is Changing

This is a tremendous 20 minute lecture given by Swedish Professor Hans Rosling from TED Talks. If you are interested at all in exercising your brain or learning a bit more about some of your misconceptions about the world, the way it exists today, and the way its changed in the last 50 years, I strongly suggest giving it a view. He's quite charismatic and uses and debunks quite a few myths and misconceptions about global development. I'd love to hear what people think of this. (Y)

Great find.

I thought he made an excellent point when he compared the poorest 20 % of the poorest African country and the richest 20 % of South Africa I think it was and said " you cant have the same AIDS program for both".

I wish at my univeristy they had more lecturers like him then the hippies who use their lectures to blame America and George Bush for everything.

I think 95% of the misconceptions in the world are the media's fault though.

Very interesting indeed. The most interesting part for me was that the UN statistics are that difficult to obtain, that's another stupidity right there.
