does anyone have any methods or whatever on how to keep the dust off you bball shoes? Ive had my pair for over about 2 yeras now and its pretty good shape, no rips, but it catches dust very fast on even the clean indoor courts. They are nice Chitown shoe?
Anyone?

It basically has to do with the courts being swept before you play. But also, those sticky pads that you see the NBA players have on t.v. that they wipe their shoes on before they check-in help.

The only way I know how to do this is putting your shoes in the washer machine, I have tried it with reg shoes though, worked well. I have a pair of outside bball shoes that is dirty, but I am not completely sure I want to put them in washer, I think they might get damaged.

Take a tissue, make it wet and wipe it off

Elbow grease.

And don't let your mom do it.

who cares there just shoes. if your going to worry about dust then dont play in them. it will greatly effect your game. your teamates arent going to wait for you to wipe smudges from your kicks.

I think he means from the sole of the shoe, and it makes him slip.
You can try just wiping water/spit on the sole, im pretty sure that works

A can of soda over a towel and you're all set to go.
My old home court was so goddamn slidey that every team we played had a hell of a time figuring out why we weren like Bambi on ice, and well... a can of soda on a towel. Put the towel on the ground and just scrape your shoes on it. But that was indoors though, might be very contraproductive when you're playing outdoors.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I decided to bump a fairly old one. I didn't think this meritted a new thread, and this thread was as close to anything about cleaning shoes so I decided to post in this one.
I was wondering if the Foot Locker Sneaker Protection spray is the right shoe spray to use on a pair of these and if not, what kind of spray should I be using:
LINK
I think I usually wouldn't be as hesitant, but I this is probably the most I've spent on a shoe in a while (around $130 Canadian), so I want to be sure if that is the correct spray to use (also for the fact I really like these shoes).
Just a heads up, the red parts on the back around the ankle are I think suede, the rest of the shoe the white parts I think are leather if that helps at all.

Yeah, that spray will work, just try to avoid getting it on the suede. Although, it won't do much if you do get it on there. I spray it on all my new shoes with and without suede. But, the label says to avoid suede...

I expected the post that bumped this thread to be something like "haha lol" - good to see it's actually a worthwhile bump for a change.
I agree with Steve's suggestion.

I think we're lucky right now, hasn't really been a pointless bump on an old thread in while (atleast not to my knowing). Anyways, thanks for both yours and Steve's vote of confidence. I also called a local Footlocker just in case to see if the Sneaker Protector spray also worked on suede (I don't think I wasn't gonna use it anyways if it didn't work on suede, would have probably been just a little more careful and avoid it getting on the suede).
