Hopefully we nab the next one from Scramento.

I prefer seeing Kwame come off the bench.

I like:

c- Mihm
pf- Odom
sf- George
sg- Kobe
pg- Smush

nooo.. take Odom off the 4 spot! put in Kwame!

If Kwame played with intensity:

C: Mihm
PF: Kwame
SF: Odom
SG: Kobe
PG: Smush

Works just fine with me. Also, Walton, Cook and George are pretty cool subs!

Hope we beat Minny and Sactown!

Allen limited Bryant to 22 points

Allen hounded Bryant into 8-of-29 shooting

I'll be damned, Ray Allen is finally playing defense, and against a superstar like Kobe.
I'm riding the Ray Allen bandwagon now.

"It does hurt because we are in a playoff race so we can't let this get us down if we expect to be a championship team," Lakers forward Brian Cook said.

I don't know whether to laugh or applaud Cook's fighting spirit.
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!

^^ he might mean in the future... maybe it should have been written:

"It does hurt because we are in a playoff race so we can't let this get us down if we expect to be a championship team (in the future)," Lakers forward Brian Cook said.

X-rays were negative, but it is said to be a severe ankle sprain

I wonder how long he's going to be out. His injury surely doesn't help the Lakers and might cost them a playoff berth. :|

I know Phillip doesn't play rookies but it might be the time now to start Andrew Bynum. Thoughts?

As I said. Jax ain't going to play Bynum. Kwame will get mroe playing time. After all, Jax did bench him and he's stayed there and i guess it's Kwame lucky break. I hope he's just decided to come out and play and try and get us that playoff berth. It's really up to the role players to step up right now. Luke Walton, Devean George. Brian Cook amongst others will be important IMO... Lamar will need to learn to play consistently and just hope Kobe doesn't get hurt.

I was wrong...

Chris Mihm walked slowly and deliberately across the locker room with a wooden crutch under each arm, a sore sign for the Lakers' immediate future.

Arguably the team's third-most important player, Mihm is sidelined indefinitely, probably a few weeks, a team official said after the center sustained a severely sprained right ankle in Sunday's 120-113 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics.

Mihm, averaging 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds, was injured after appearing to come down on the foot of Seattle forward Rashard Lewis with 48.4 seconds to play. Mihm had jumped to defend a layup by Chris Wilcox.

"I definitely felt something pop in there and it's swollen up pretty big right now," he said. "I felt it when I came down. I felt it swelling right away. I knew I'd done something."

Mihm, who had 20 points and 13 rebounds at the time, left Staples Center in a medical walking boot, a heavy dose of anti-inflammatory medication and ice awaiting him. His absence will mean more time for Kwame Brown, who was scoreless against Seattle, and rookie Andrew Bynum, who had sat out six of the last seven games before logging five minutes against the SuperSonics.

"We will have to wait and see what we do with this basketball team," Coach Phil Jackson said. "I would guess that Kwame would start and Andrew would be a backup player."

Looks like Andrew will play a bit.

Bynum is the future of the Lakers (Thats right the future!).
I say they start him and Kwame and bring Cookie monster off the bench, this injury may do more good than harm. If they make playoffs that is.

Starting Bynum would mean to throw away that playoff berth. However... I see Kwame playing about 35 mpg for the next few games... I can feel it. Hopefully, he can be more assertive on O as he is on D.

How would that mean throwing away the play-offs? He's not a pleb, he won't go in there and average 4/3 with 9 turnovers. I mean god, look at some of the other starting C's in the league.

^^ He's not ready either. I don't want to see him get abused in the paint.

Starting doesn't mean he has to play 38mpg. As if he isn't ready for 12-15 minutes at this point. The team has injuries, Kwame's useless unless he actually decides to play D. Turiaf should get some more minutes aswell, but it's not exactly going to lose games having Bynum in there for a few more mpg.

Nah, I'd say Kwame's defence is alright, it's his offence and indecisivness in reacting with the ball that's his problem. I still don't think it's a good idea to start Bynum. I'd rather have Ronny there.

Fine, fine! Have your way! Just hope that Kwame has thought about his role after his benching.

Jae is saying that Kwame's offence is useless and his defence, if in fact he tries, is ok.
