Screws up NBA 2K7 for me though. Not to mention I'm still playing with the X Ball.

On topic: Good trade for Dallas, the West is a scary place to be right now.

oh by the way here's the article.

Less than 48 hours ago, Jason Kidd was privately telling people he feared he wouldn't get out of New Jersey before the trade deadline next week. Yet just when he was losing hope, the Nets agreed in principle to deliver the All-Star point guard to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday afternoon, a source close to the negotiations told Yahoo! Sports.

Kidd and Malik Allen will go to Dallas for 24-year-old point guard Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, Devean George, Maurice Ager, $3 million and two future No. 1 draft picks. In a side deal, the Nets sent guard Antoine Wright to Dallas for a future second-round pick.

its a gamble to give up harris but like i said with the shaq deal, its a worth while gamble imo. kidd may give the mavs that added boost to where they can finally get a ring.

kinda crazy out west now, big blockbuster trades going down. the laker trade has caused a ripple effect for sure out there. man i am really looking forward to the playoffs this year

Can't believe I didn't see this coming a mile away. All this talking up of Devin Harris Cuban has been doing should have made it obvious he was trying as hard as he could to move him for Kidd.

Well for those of you complaining about last years deadline, you certainly
can't be unhappy with this years.

I think Dallas might have given away a little too much on this trade. Too damn bad they had to give up Devin Harris (n) Would have loved to see Kidd and harris in the backcourt together..

Still, will be nice to see them play :) When's his first game?

probably won't be until after the all-star break.

I'd love to see how many open shots Dirk, Terry & J How get with Kidd on the floor. Harris was ok, but I don't think it was a lopsided trade at all

And that's what makes it lopsided.

The source I read didn't mention Diop though.

So it's basically Harris for Kidd, and New Jersey already has Terry. This is going to be one scary team come playoff time. I mean, the chances of Kidd getting a ring, I think, is a huge possibility.

I'm going to say this likely ends up as a bad deal for Dallas...trade Harris for an inefficient 34 year old guy having his worst year in a decade? And then also give up Diop who's super valuable?

Not like Stack, Ager, and George bring anything to the table...but that's three players they're getting Malik Allen back for?

I think this trade will do well for both teams. Dallas would have a chance to make a more balanced attack on offense and the Nets who are going no where gets two young players in harris and ager. I don't see why carter won't be traded soon or this summer. The Nets could start players like Krstic-S. Williams or boone-Jefferson-Harris-M. Williams in the future.

And yes, it is funny that the Boston trade has shook up the entire NBA. That trade basically spurred many teams to either start rebuilding or trade up for big name players. I wouldn't be surprised to see now if another blockbuster trade came down before the deadline.

Basically sending their entire future for Kidd. Giving up Harris and Diop? Not mention a couple of draft picks.

Well, Memphis is going to be kicking themselves even more when they saw what a team could get for a old PG like Kidd, let alone a 27 year old Gasol still reaching his prime.

haha man New Jersey broke the bank on this one. If Dallas doesn't win the championship then they're fucked. I can't fucking wait for the western conference playoffs...it's gonna be even better than last year.

Does this mean that Kidd is gonna be playing on the western conference team in the allstar game?

Oh damn, better start a new dynasty on Live. I'm using the Nets. My rosters are screwed up.

Sad to see Kidd leave the Nets, Dallas made a big gamble on this one.

Inefficient? Maybe his scoring and maybe his defense has slipped, but his assist and rebounding numbers are as high as they've ever been. He's 2 rebounds a game shy of averaging a triple double for the season.

Why is the topic called "Kidd Traded to Dallas" when it never even officially happened and is now dead...?

Wow, what a turn-around. If the Mavs don't win it all this year, George will be called the party-pooper for sure.

Kidd shoots 48% overall, and 44% from the floor. He turns it over on 23.6% of possessions. Gets rebounds, but not offensive ones. Doesn't really get to the line.

Yep. Inefficient. And he's not the best defensive backcourt player anymore.

Devin Harris by comparison shoots 59% and 52%. Turns it over 16.4% of the time. And gets to the line about 3.5 times as often. Also, probably one of the three best defensive point guards.

They're trying to make up for the inability to keep nash with another playmaker. Deavan George is my hero.
