Remember when there was a rumour of him getting fired for Riley's return to the bench? Wade defended him, so did LeBron and others.

The same can be said for all the coaches Larry Bird played for in the NBA.

Spo's not that terrible. You can't put the blame on him for the team's record, pre-LeBron, either since his roster then looked like what Phil Jackson had with the Lakers in 2005-2007. Phil didn't had much success with his roster then too.
What's annoying about Spo is that he spouts too much Rileyisms during interviews instead of giving a straight answer. afaik Riley didn't even do it as much as Spo is doing right now.

I'm not denying there was an on-going feud at the time but eventually Wade and the Heat stood by him. Media loved making deals out of it, blowing up entire situation out of proportion, milking whatever they could at the time to juice it up so Heat Hate feeding frenzy could continue.

Even if he missed a game, the Spurs are still a very capable team. They were 11-5 w/o him this season.

they didnt go 11-5 against the heat without parker. the spurs have to win 1 of the next 2 games cause they are not winning 2 more in miami

About coach Spo: I don't know how much of a coaching genius he is or is not and how much other coaches influence their teams (although I think Pop definitely has influence on the Spurs playing well for 15 years now), but guys in this forum are exaggerating.

I am a Heat hater as well, but sometimes you just have to stay sober and tell the truth: He has helped this team to the third straight Finals, which is definitely an accomplishment as so many things could turn wrong in three years of time and not many teams have managed this feat since the Lakers. (did one team do it?)

Further he is a very very young coach. I don't know how Pop was in his first three years in the league. Or Pat Riley ... or George Karl, Phil Jackson, Chuck Daly ... name any coach who has a good reputation. They all had to make their experiences in order to improve I guess.

So three finals appearances in four (?) years of coaching - if that is not enough to show that he is not a bum (whic hdoes not mean he is GOAT!), then I dont know.

Predictions for Game 4?

I think we'll see LeBron play a lot better, though the Spurs have done well so far to take the lane away from him, so I think he'll need to start hitting from the outside. Of course, if Wade and Bosh don't show up, a big game from LeBron probably isn't going to be enough, barring a complete collapse by San Antonio at the offensive end, a la Game 2. I'm guessing that Green and Neal won't have quite as big an outing as Game 3, but they'll still hit a couple of big threes during the course of the game. I'm expecting it to be a closer contest, too.

Spurs win it by 6. Lebron will show up for three quarters or so, Wade will fall down at least 4 times, Bosh will spit after some meaningless play and do his toothless black gum mouth gape thing & Pop just might get a tech.

And if anything Lebron would be the F as usual, they start Bosh at C.
