That doesn't work under the cap. I don't think the Nuggets would go for that either; I still doubt they're set on trading Melo but if they were they could demand a lot more for him.

Yes, it does. Anthony is no longer a BYC player, tell RealGM to update their trade checker. (It works under ESPN's, or if you simply look at the salary figures.)

pistons are trying to make a major change in core. first they tried melo, now they're trying t-mac.

http://www.metronews.ca/toronto/sports/article/81840

And, speaking of major trade possibilities, there’s a blockbuster brewing in the NBA, too.

The Detroit Pistons, we hear, are making a big pitch to the Houston Rockets for perennial all-star Tracy McGrady.

it seems as eastern conf is getting buffed every second, detroit felt urgency to shake up. but i worry they'd lose too much to land an aging all star.

I can see that happening before the Nuggest trade Melo. I guess the Pistons aren't too worried about McGrady's durability.

Hopefully they just trade one aging star for another. Maybe Billups? But then they would have an issue at the SG...

...I think they should shake up their roster a little bit anyway. Getting T-Mac might be a good idea for the team and T-Mac himself. Pistons could get back to the Finals (not likely) and T-Mac would finally get passed the first round of the playoffs!!

Tmac is a bitch when it comes to Defense, and that is what the Pistons are all about, so I wouldn't wanna see him on the team. Hell, he'd prolly be injured again and only play half the season. Our problem in Dtown isnt scoring, we've got the talent for that, we need youth and an inside presence (preferably both with a defensive mindset)...thats why i really want to see Camby come to Dtown (Sheed 4 Camby?)

btw, that McG rumor is getting downplayed by Pistons staff STORY HERE

imo, players like t-mac would be a nice change for the team like the pistons. the team is already good but other eastern conf teams are getting better each minute as well. if the change is needed anyways, why not try bringing a superstar and see what happens. it'll guarantee ticket sales and national attention as well. it's something the pistons lacked for years. most of all, the pistons might actually become a fun team to watch again. stifling d worked good but also bought lots of anti pistons.

Tracy McGrady to Detroit would be a big shake-up obviously, but i dont see it as being a bad thing really. He is aging and he is injury prone, but he has always been a guy who in the first years on a new team, he plays his ass off. Defensively and offensively he's always had the skills to be the top in each category.

I think if he was a Piston, they could have a very dangerous offensive line-up.

PG Rodney Stuckey
SG Rip Hamilton
SF Tracy McGrady
PF Antonio McDyess
C Rasheed Wallace

I think Rasheed will be gone before the trading deadline though, his skill set and contract situation are way too good for a team to pass on.

Joe Dumars wouldn't go young or go through any rebuilding.. He will always go for that idea of being a contender.. But he is also thinking of the team's future with its aging roster.. If he trades Prince or Sheed, expect someone who is experienced and a contender in return.

T=Mac ---> Half-man, Half-season..
Melo ----> DUI, way off the speed limit, unwlling defender
Prince ----> one-time NBA champ

Who would you want at SF??
