Your Player

While I didn't care too much for draft combine, I've really been digging the My Player mode. I suck at it, but am getting better. The first hour or so in Summer League is kind of dull, but once you develop into a decent player and get in the NBDL its fun. Only flaw is the unrealistic quarter lengths, but I understand 2k's reasoning on that decision. I expect sliders, difficulty and quarter lengths will be customizable for 2K11 though.

Anyway, post your impressions of this mode and where your player is at. I created a jack-of-all-trades PG and right now my overall is 54. I'm on the 0-2 Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBDL.

i created a 6'9 athletic pf. hes at 47 ovr right now i think. training camp with the pacers didnt work out and was sent to the nbdl playin for the dakota wizards. then the mavs sign me for a 10 day contract and my first game is against the cavs guarding LBJ and he has his way with me  with i took sum screens. im still pretty bad...iso moves are extremely hard to do and i have no clue wut im doin in the post lol but its still fun. playin on pro difficulty and 5 min quarters since i cant change it.

Im so far loving My Player mode aswell, it feels like a completely different game than the traditional.

I created a 6'7'' Defensive minded point-guard with pass first instincts (IRL I'm actually a 5'8'' PG with a score first mentality). He played for the Nets during the summer circuit and despite playing decently wasn't offered a contract but played well enough to get a gig with the Cavaliers during summer league although sadly got cut after the 4th game (Mo Williams dropped 28points on me, NBA Allstar vs 19yr scrub doesnt end well).

Now hes playing for the Bakersfield Jam where hes the back-up point guard and has been given the go ahead to play SG during 4th quarters alongside the starting PG. Hes averaging 11-4-4 with 1.5 steals, although the last 2 games hes put up 16+,6+,6+ and 2+ and hes comming along nicely. Ive successfully completed 10 Ball Handling drills and investing my stats into passing, on-ball defense, steal, defensive awareness, lay-ups and mid-range. Hes now 52overall (The best player on the team is the starting PG and hes 67 overall).

Hoping to get noticed by the Heat or Grizzlies where I reckon my size and skill set could compliment D-wade Or OJ Mayo in the backcourt.

6'9" Defensive PF. ~70 rating for Blocks and slowly working on everything else. Nuggets in the Summer Circuit, went 1-5 there and ended up with the Celtics for training camp. Somehow I am still in the thick of it in the 5th game despite getting destroyed by 'sheed and KG, neither have ended up on my team yet either...which sucks. I think I've won 2 of the games, one was by a buzzer beater by House but I am just trying to enjoy my guy being in a Celtics jersey....cause I know it isn't going to last.
Opinions are my own.

Created a 6'3 PG.

All around player that started in Summer League with the Cavs summer team. Went over the Warriors and other teams as well. Didn't make a FA Camp so I ended up in DLeague for the SkyForce and eventually got called up to tke Knicks and have been there since.

Thus far I am a 58 overall rating averaging 8.8 PPG and 4.9 APG. Cannot shoot from outside to save my life but I hold my own.

This has all been on the 360 so far and I cannot say I have played too much of the other parts of 2k10, and only played online once so far.

Looking at what goals you can acheive in your career and in season it might keep me interested for a while. I like this part of 2k10.

I'm looking forward to playing this mode once I get my new computer on thursday. I think I will create myself, with a 3-point speciality like my own style of play.

This mode is everything that the shitty 24/7 wasn't. It has some little flaws that will probably be hammered out in 2K11, but its pretty fun. Ever since I started taking it in on almost every possession, I've been doing way better. Had a really exciting OT win, but I'm still stuck in the D-League.

I've started off as a 6'11 Face-up Power Forward, who I like when he was able to get open for mid-range jumpers, but that's rare because he doesn't have the level of quickness that I'd like. I started with the Grizzlies in summer league, which was alright. The first couple of games were slightly awkward, but once he started getting more aggressive and being matched up against some of the league's better young talent, he hit his stride. Ended up averaging 14 ppg and 5 rebounds. Memphis weren't interested enough in seeing what I could offer in training camp, so I ventured to the Bobcats, figuring that there was a dearth of power forward talent there. I was partly right, but was still listed as 5th on the depth chart behind Boris Diaw, Melvin Ely, somebody else and Vladimir Radmanovic. I was able to hold my own in my matchups against Radmanovic and Ely in the first 2 games, but struggled against Diaw who ran me ragged. I managed to last until the 4th game, then saw my training camp experience come to an end after going 1-7, and allowing Ely to grab 3 offensive rebounds.

I then landed with the Iowa Energy, and played a few games, but it still doesn't feel right. I'm thinking about re-starting with someone more athletic, or a scoring 2-guard.

I've managed to work my way up to a 47 overall rating. How long are the D-League seasons supposed to be?

@Dan's Brain: it's better to start with an athletic type because of the speed bonus.. speed is very expensive in the game, while shooting, etc are quite cheap and can be upgraded easily..

I set myself up with my guy based on my own real life game, so I'm a 6'3" (in shoes) SG who is a 3pt specialist. Only in summer league at the moment with Suns, but I imagine I'm head to D-League :P

Guys, how long does it take to get out of D-League? To get offered a 10-day contract at least..
I've already played 7 games in D-League, with an average grade of B and it's getting pretty boring.

So is the life of someone who walked on the Summer League...the mode isn't supposed to be easy

My player is a face-up power forward, rated a forty-five overall. I was drafted fourth overall in the second round, by the Denver Nuggets. I have been averaging fifteen points and eleven rebounds in my first three games of the Summer Circuit.

Laso, can I somehow simulate the game in My Player mode? Or do I have to play all 82?

Thanks for the answer. Sucks, though.. I doubt I'll be able to play the same team and same player for such a long time..

I've said it to other people, it is a difficult game mode and is supposed to accurately represent a walk on trying to get into the NBA.

Well I'm without the X-Box at my roommates house for this weekend and I've been dying without this game. I've become thoroughly addicted to this mode and I wouldn't be surprised if I failed this semester because of it. :)

I originally had a 6'6 all around 2 guard but I decided to scrap that idea and Make a 6'5 Penny Hardaway-esque athletic point guard. Breezed through the Summer Circuit no problem and I'm currently in the Raptors training camp. It's a shame that the Raptors are so stacked at the guard spots which lessens the chance of me getting a spot on the team but at the same time I wouldn't mind playing in the D-League for a while since it'll make my rise to the NBA more of an underdog story.

Well anyway, first game of summer camp I got smoked on defense by Jarrett Jack; he had like 24 points and 6 assists, but I did pretty well myself with a 19-4-7 stat-line to go with a steal and a block. Next game was a lot better with me pooping all over Calderon holding him to 6-15 shooting (a near impossible feat considering how freaking god-like his pull-up jumper is) while going for a 10-10 points-assists double double and a couple of boards.

Oh yeah, and my average grade is probably about an A-. What can I say? I'm a sexy teammate to have on the court.

Did not play so far but got drafted as the first pick of the second round by the Kings! Actually I like them and I was even thinking about starting a association with them. And they only have Udrih and Rodriguez on the PG spot so I will definitely try everything to jump right into the NBA because I can see huge minutes imho.

I'm pretty sure that Sacramento is trying to mold Tyreke Evans into their long term point guard, but yeah, Rodriguez and Udrih aren't exactly the toughest of competition for the Kings' backup point guard.

I have a 6'1'' all-round PG, rating of 48 atm, played for the heat in summer league, had a trial with the rockets, lost my spot to chucky atkins (who i didnt even play against in training camp lol), and currently have played 3 games for the skyforce, coming off the bench and playing in clutch situations.. 11 MPG, 7pts, 7ast, 2.5reb, over 50% from field and 3's... averaging a B grade.

I just need more minutes lol

OT: I think it was Tyreke who said he wanted to win DOPY at PG which instantly caught my attention. Not many wing players these days (let alone rookies) aim to become a DPOY so the man has my respect. Watching him during the summer league.. he sure is an interesting prospect. I was one of the people who thought King's REALLY should've taken Rubio at #4 and I'm more than willing to take that back right now.

Ugh, the grind is really getting to me. My friend says he was awarded with a 10 day contracts after 6 D-League games, but right now, 19 games in, I'm still stuck on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. I lead the team in scoring, assists, steals and FG%, and average a B+ teammate grade, but to no avail. I'm really sick of playing the fucking Dakota Wizards. I am developing though. Started out with 40 overall, and now I'm 61.

still having fun being "stuck" in the D-League. although my guy sucked when I started in the D-League and I've slowly worked my way up to getting touches since I'm defensively minded.
